Steve Vensel, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Steve is also a specialist in recovery and coping with emotionally abusive workplace experiences. Mobbing and bullying are both forms of emotional workplace abuse that can be devastating to targets. Mobbing refers to a group of perpetrators targeting an individual for removal from an organization. Bullying refers to a single perpetrator targeting an individual for various purposes. Bully bosses can be extremely destructive and degrading. Being both mobbed and bullied is especially traumatic and often professional intervention with an informed and trained therapist can be very helpful.
Steve’s professional experience includes directing an outpatient children’s psychiatric center, directing therapeutic residential homes, developing and running large counseling centers and church based counseling ministries. He has also hosted call-in radio counseling programs and has been a clinical field instructor for most of the major South Florida Universities in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Clinical Social Work degree programs. He is a state qualified supervisor across all three counseling disciplines.
Currently, Steve is a professor of counseling psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University and is completing his Ph.D in Counseling at Florida Atlantic University. His research focuses on clergy and the workplace environment of the church.
In addition to his counseling practice, Steve provides training to pastors in brief counseling/coaching techniques that are especially suited to clergy who have limited time but want effective interventions. He also provides specialized training to pastors in identifying and managing psychologically unhealthy church members and attendees.
Steve is available for pulpit supply and frequently leads seminars and workshops on a multitude of mental health and relationship topics focusing on marital, parenting, individual and relationship dynamics. He has been married for over 25 years and has two adult children.
